Bookkeeper

The ideal candidate shall have 5+ years of construction accounting experience. The Bookkeeper is responsible for assisting the CEO and Vice President of Operations with various accounting functions, job cost, billing & bookkeeping. This role communicates with the appropriate team members to ensure the appropriate approvals have been received for all transactions.

Accounts Payable

  • Processes vendor invoices & audits for sales tax exemptions

  • Verifies PO invoicing against Bill of Materials

  • Reviews/codes/processes monthly credit card statements

  • Updates & maintains supplier database with Procurement Department

  • Updates & maintains trade partner database with Project Management Department

  • Monitors AP Aging report & contacts vendors to resolve any issues

  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable

  • Monitors AP email account for new invoices/check requests/credit applications

Book Keeping

  • Assist Project Manager with monthly reporting

  • Review cost reports with PMs to identify cost/projection variances

  • Enter sub invoices into Bill.com

  • Assist PM with collecting sub/supplier invoices & waivers, when requested

  • Monitor subcontractor compliance (executed contracts, COs, COIs, CPs)

  • Manage subcontractor payment distribution

  • Manage and process accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll

  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure accurate financial records

  • Maintain general ledger entries, coding and classification of financial transactions

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Accounting or other business-related field

  • At least five years of previous experience in construction industry

  • An eye for detail, accuracy is imperative

  • Good organizational and communication skills

  • Able to prioritize and multi-task in fast paced environment

  • Able to work well with others to meet organizational deadlines

  • Must maintain ethical conduct and strict confidentiality
